Bio

about me.
The name is Nicole. Or Nikki, which is what most people know me by. I've had a lot of nicknames throughout my lifetime - Nic, Nikkikins, Slurpy, McNikkins, Nicster, Nico, and Nike, just to name a few. I'm currently a senior residing in Illinois, and I graduate in the spring of 2007 (woo!). I plan to go to the University of Michigan. For what, I don't quite know. Right now my only future plans are to live in as many European countries as possible and fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. I guess you could say I'm an optimist, but I'm more of an idealist. I believe in what is right, I don't take no for an answer, and I'm constantly trying to think of something new that's good for the world I live in. Sounds cheesy, I know, but it's the honest truth. I'm also a romanticist - I love love. You can see some of my other interests in this userinfo if you're interested in reading about them. Um, I love to write, and I used to love to read, but not as much as I used to. I still love it, though! I roleplay online, though it's limited to Harry Potter on Greatestjournal. I'm addicited to roleplaying, and I spend most of my computer time doing it. I mainly play Slytherins because I'm great with the evil people, and if I took one of those sorting quizzes, it would say I'm a Slytherin. So for all you Harry Potter people out there, what's yo house? XD Besides roleplaying and writing, I watch a lot of movies, listen to a lot of music, and I run track. I love track, and I love football even more. I'm a working student - I work at the library, the pool in the summers, and at Subway (eat fresh!). Let's see, what do I look like? I'm a midget, honest to god. I'm only about five feet and four inches, and I'm one of those tiny people who can eat twice their weight and never gain a pound. Be jealous, be very jealous. :P I've got blondeish hair and green eyes, and I tan. Yes, I admit it. I tan every Friday morning. As for other stuff, I have four younger sisters, and they all have N names because my mom is crazy. There's me, Norah, Natalie, Naomi, and Nessa. Then I've also got five puppy dogs - Butch, Rover, Lena, Emery, and Spitz. I loff my dogs! They're all very big dogs, too, but that was mainly my mom's idea. My mom and my dad are divorced, and trust me, it's for better more than it is for worse. A cool thing about my family is that my grandparents are Canadian. My momma lived in Canada and moved to Chicago, so every summer I get to go see my gramp and grams in Windsor. Hopefully by the fall I'll be living much closer to them and I can visit them whenever I want. Yah. I'm going to add more to this when I come up with more.

gobstopprs, so if you know me from there, feel free to add me here. I'm open to friends, so long as I am connected with them in some way or have similar interests. If you fit either of those, and you're...uh, how do I put it nicely? Normal, then feel free to add me. Just comment to my friends only post. The name 'hiddenseek' was inspired by Imogen Heap's song "Hide and Seek", and I've been in search of a good LJ username for a long time now. So I just took it as soon as I came up with it. The journal itself is or will be filled with random thoughts, links, and goodies, just to name a few things, and I try to keep updated with my friends page as much as possible. So, with all that said, I present you with my LJ.

fandoms.
I have a grand total of three major fandoms, though I do support various little pairings in random works of literature, movies, or TV shows. My number one fandom is Harry Potter, of course! I roleplay it basically 24/7, and I have a natural love of Slytherins. My favorite character is probably Sirius Black, but I don't really ship him with anyone (though thanks to Shay and Emma at SF, I loff him with Gemma Croaker. XD). I ship Harry/Luna, Draco/Pansy, Harry/Hermione, Harry/Susan, and Zacharias/Susan. I support Harry with a lot of ladies due to the high amount of ships that go on in my roleplaying games, but I also think Harry's just a likable guy. The next most important fandom is LOST. I love, love, love, LOVE LOST. To no end. I have an orgasm just thinking about it. Yes. Yes, I do. I love pretty much every single character on the show, save John Locke, but most of the time I like him too. My favorite character is/was Mr. Eko, but the producers went on and killed him (I AM STILL GRIEVING.), so now I can't pick a favorite. It might be Kate, though. I ship Kate/Jack, some Kate/Sawyer, and now that I'm halfway through the third season, I am sort of shipping Claire/Desmond. But with LOST, you never know where things are going. So we'll see. The last of my fandoms is Pirates of the Caribbean! I absolutely love these movies! I think Depp is amazing as Jack Sparrow, and my love of Keira Knightley grew from these movies. Hey, Orlando's not half bad either! My favorite character, though, is Commodore Norrington, and I ship Jack/Elizabeth. Simple as that.

good reads.
I don't read nearly as much as I used to, but I honestly should start picking up a new book once in a while because reading is clearly one of the greatest things on planet Earth. My top favorite books are probably Pride and Prejudice, Madame Bovary, Fight Club, the Harry Potter series, Fall on Your Knees, and Treasure Island. I really like The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Anna Karenina, The Kite Runner, The Time Traveler's Wife, and The Dharma Bums as well. I'll read anything by Hemingway because I absolutely adore the guy, and I closely follow Oprah's Book Club. I am a sucker for the classic literature, among which I mostly read love stories set during the Victorian Era. I like historical fiction and whacked out scientific-fantasy novels also, no matter how childish some may seem. I absolutely hate Shakespeare, though. Well, not hate, but I dislike reading his stuff. The only play I enjoyed was A Midsummer Night's Dream. That one was wonderful. Macbeth was also pretty cool, but after I read those two, the rest were horribly painful and boring to read. There are so many books I could name here, along with so many authors. I'll probably add more titles as time goes along, but that's saying that I actually find time for a book that's not assigned to me.

movies & tv.
I watch loads and loads of TV and probably even more movies. My favorite TV shows right now are LOST and Brothers and Sisters, both on ABC. I also watch Desperate Housewives and America's Next Top Model, the latter being one of the few reality shows that I actually follow closely. I watch a lot of VH1, simply because it has better music than MTV and because the Celebreality is better than most reality television. I used to watch Arrested Development when it was on, but now that's over. Sob. Law and Order SVU, Boston Legal, and CSI Miami are a few "law" shows that I watch, and anything else that I watch on a regular basis is CNN, Nickelodeon, and HGTV. Whenever Spike has a good movie on, I watch that. And I guess that leads me to movies. Movies are a major part of my entertainment cycle, so I've seen quite a few. My favorites are probably Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice, The Prestige, Love Actually, Kill Bill, Fight Club, Ocean's 11, The Bourne Identity, Zoolander, Jarhead, Black Hawk Down, Titanic, Closer, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Brick, Wicker Park, and Moulin Rouge! Gods, I have so many other movies that I love that I could name off. I watch basically anything, save maybe documentaries and the really retarded horror movies.

music.
Music is the same as movies and TV, though I have managed to narrow it down to the artists I listen to the most. I am a music addict, and I download new things all the time, so my iTunes library is pretty amazing in size. Mainly I listen to Bloc Party, Ryan Adams, Imogen Heap, John Mayer, Pete Yorn, The Strokes, Coldplay, and Beck. My genre of music is usually alternative rock, indie rock, and pop rock, but I'm open to almost every genre. Save country. I can only tolerate a small amount of country. Blah. And I would put a last.fm thing on here, but I sort of stopped using mine or something. Complications arose with it.
